This won't mean much to the non-Canadians, but I was terribly saddened to learn of Jack Layton's death this morning. I don't love everything about the NDP (though I'll take it over the alternatives, for sure), and I admit I've made gentle fun, over the years, of his used car salesman-ish 'stache and manner.
